Very Rev. Thomas Morgan
Fr. Tom Morgan is the son and eldest of Thomas and Joyce Morgan and brother to Geri, Kelly, and Michael. He was Baptized at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Thibodaux, La, with Wallis Morgan and Hilda Arabie serving as his godparents. He grew up in Tampa, Fl. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. He received his First Holy Communion at St. Lawrence and was Confirmed by Bishop Charles B. McLaughlin. He graduated from St. Lawrence Catholic School in 1972 and Tampa Catholic High School in 1976. He attended Florida State University prior to attending and graduating from St. John Vianney College Seminary in Miami, Fl with a Bachelor of Philosophy degree and from St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary in Boynton Beach, Fl. with a Master of Divinity degree.
Fr. Tom was ordained Deacon and then ordained to the Priesthood by Bishop W. Thomas Larkin at the Cathedral of St. Jude in 1984. He has served as Parochial Vicar at St. Jerome Catholic Church in Largo, St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Tampa, St. Michael the Archangel Church in Hudson, Holy Family Catholic Church in St. Petersburg, and Espiritu Santo Catholic Church in Safety Harbor. Fr. Tom served as a Navy Reserve Chaplain and was activated during “Desert Storm,” serving with the Marine Corp in Saudi Arabia. He has served as pastor at St. Scholastica Catholic Church in Lecanto, St. Clement Catholic Church in Plant City, St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Tampa, and St. Jerome Catholic Church in Largo. He was appointed to serve as Rector of the Cathedral of St. Jude and Administrator of St. Joseph Catholic by Bishop Gregory Parkes Church in 2023
